WILD WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS – SPRING REGISTRATION BEGINS AT SEQUOIA PARK ZOO!

Sequoia Park Zoo is once again offering an exciting line-up of educational programs this spring, with something for everyone between ages five and eleven. Zoofari Adventures Wild Workshops for Kids provide a unique experience where children can explore the natural world while developing a closer understanding of animals.

“Zoo camps and workshops inspire children’s inner zookeeper and set them on course for a lifelong love of wildlife and conservation,” said Amber Neilson, the Zoo’s Education and Operations Supervisor. “Some of our staff today are graduates of Sequoia Park Zoo’s education programs.”

Cub Club, for five to seven year olds, offers a series of one-day themed camps that give children the opportunity to explore the world of animals through hands-on activities, theater, stories, games, and art projects. Each camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $25 per child. Current classes include:

• ·         Crafty Canines – Saturday, April 12
• ·         Funky Monkeys – Saturday, May 10
• ·         Silly Snakes and Salamanders – Saturday, June 14

Junior Zookeepers, for eight to 11 year-olds, offer older kids the opportunity to explore the animal kingdom at a greater depth. Springtime Spectacular is a four-day camp that celebrates animals and Spring with games and activities that explore the world of insects, amphibians, birds, and mammals– plus sneak previews of the latest developments in the Watershed Heroes exhibit. Springtime Spectacular runs Tuesday, April 15- Friday April 18, 9 a.m. to noon, and costs $70 per child.

• ·         Earth Day Celebration, Sunday April 27, noon to 4 p.m.
